About Leah

Philosophy

I believe that feeling supportive, nurturing touch is one of the most important experiences in life, especially during the journey of childbirth. That notion of support is truly the pillar of my philosophy, having worked with families through many different birth paths. I know that birth is not "one size fits all" and my goal is always to serve and educate my clients, so they feel heard and supported through their journey.  I cherish the amazing privilege it is to support and empower laboring and newly postpartum Mamas!

Get to Know Leah

Leah’s birth support education includes Labor Doula training through DONA (Doulas of North America) and ToLabor, as well as assisting in Bradley Childbirth Classes. She has supported clients who prepared for labor using Hypnobirthing and Birthing From Within curriculum as well as Bradley and Lamaze. She has attended just under 300 glorious births thus far.

Since becoming a postpartum doula, Leah has supported families bringing home their first, second, even fourth baby, as well as families with multiples and
preemies. To more deeply support newly postpartum clients, Leah attended CAPPA’s Lactation Educator Certification Course.

She received her diploma from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy in 2004. Then furthered her certification by completing both Fundamental and Advanced courses in pre- and perinatal massage therapy, run through Body Therapy Associates, taught by Carole Osborne-Sheets and Liz Ellis.

She has also earned her Certificate of Completion from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in Core Synchronism under Alyssa Gillespie and Robert Stevens N.D., L.M.T., who is the founder of the modality.

Her latest venture has been participating in the Tranquil Transitions Placenta Encapsulation Training in August of 2013.
